“If you are looking for an inspiration, even a plane wall
can inspire you”
Augustine "Og" Mandino II (December 12,
1923 – September 3, 1996) was named after his grandfather. He is one of the
well remembered people till today. He worked in extremely different fields and succeeded
in most of the fields. Initially, he was a paper editor in his school and had
to leave school eventually after his mother’s death. After that he worked in a
paper factory. He then moved to the army during 2nd world war and
became a military officer and a bombardier. During his travel, he met James
Steward and hanged his photo on his wall and saw his photo every time he wrote
a novel. He read inspirational, success, motivation, self help books which
inspired him to write many novels. He went on to write about 21 books and the
famous one being “the greatest salesman in the world”. And I am planning to
read this book sometime later.
What I derived out of reading about him in Wikipedia is that
he was a kind of person who dint like staying in a place and moved around and
explored as many things as possible(get comfortable with
your comfort zone and move to the discomfort zone the very minute you become
comfortable in that zone). His inspiration was James Steward and I now feel that
one can do wonders only if there is an inspiration and even a tiny grass can be
an inspiration if you are open-minded and see around with a clear vision.
